young woman shoutingCalling all young poets, storytellers, spoken word artists and wordsmiths! Learn how to express yourself through various forms of poetry during Lenexa Parks & Recreation’s poetry workshop, led by Poet Jen Harris.

This five-part series for teens age 13 to 18 takes place on Monday nights, July 1–29, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Community Forum at Lenexa City Hall.

During the month-long workshop, you'll develop your voice, gain confidence, and sharpen your writing and performance skills. Then, practice those skills in front of a live audience by participating in Lenexa’s free Sunflower Poetry Slam and Open Mic events on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. (July through December).

This is a program of the Lenexa Arts Council.

Register by June 26, 2019.
 Cost: $125.
