Whether you rely on public swimming pools for relaxation, exercise or play, we’ve got you covered. The City of Lenexa is preparing to operate all three outdoor public pools this summer — Ad Astra, Flat Rock Creek and Indian Trails Aquatic Center — as long as there are no major unforeseen maintenance or physical issues.

Once again, the outdoor season will look a little different in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and adjusted school schedules. The pools will have staggered opening dates rather than all opening the same day. Outdoor pool memberships are available for Lenexa residents only at this time, but daily admission will be open to nonresidents. If you purchased a pool membership in 2020, it is also good for the 2021 season.

New pool memberships must be purchased in person at the Lenexa Rec Center from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m. If you had a season pool membership in 2019 but not in 2020, you can renew it online. Note that outdoor pool passes do not include admission to the Lenexa Rec Center indoor pool.

Safety precautions based on current restrictions

  • Pool capacity will be limited to 50% at each location.
  • Bring your own folding lawn chair to sit on. No deck chairs will be available.
  • Staff will follow appropriate COVID-19 cleaning and disinfectant procedures.
  • Lenexa Lazers swim and dive team will follow USA Swimming COVID-19 guidelines.
