Parks and walking trails are prime targets for thieves looking to steal purses left inside cars.
Typically, when a thief sees a purse inside a vehicle they will smash out the window to get it.
If you plan to walk, jog, use the playground or otherwise enjoy one of our many great parks and trails, your best bet is to leave your purse at home and keep your drivers license in your pocket.
Another option is to lock your purse in the trunk if your vehicle has one; however, do this before you get to the park in case thieves are watching the parking lot.
As always, if you observe suspicious behavior, such as someone peering in multiple vehicles or trying door handles, call 911 immediately.
