Amendments requiring a court appearance

For violations not eligible to be amended by the court clerks, you must appear on your court date and speak with a prosecutor about the violation not being recorded on your driving record. The prosecutor will consider your driving record and the circumstances surrounding your traffic offense. If the prosecutor agrees to amend your moving violation, fine amounts are generally doubled and all fines and fees are to be paid immediately. Violations written in construction or school zones are not eligible for an amendment.

No proof of insurance amendment

If you did not have insurance coverage at the time of your ticket, you may be eligible to have this charge amended to a lesser offense if you are approved by a city prosecutor and complete the requirements within 60 days from the date of the offense.

Driving while suspended amendment

If you did not have a valid driver’s license at the time of your ticket, you may be eligible to have this charge amended to a lesser offense if you are approved by a city prosecutor and complete the requirements within 90 days of the date of the offense.
