There are outdoor pickleball and tennis courts at several Lenexa parks, including Bois D'Arc, Flat Rock Creek and Matt Taylor.

Courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis unless they have been reserved.

Lenexa Rec Center

17201 W. 87th St. Pkwy., Lenexa, KS 66219

  • Activity Gym: Drop-in play is available at various times throughout the day, depending on the time of year. Admission is free for Lenexa Rec Center members and $3 for nonmembers.
  • Second floor gym: Drop-in play is available periodically on the south court on various days. Must be a member of the Lenexa Rec Center or pay a day pass fee.

  • Drop-in play is available several times throughout the week, depending on the time of year. Admission is $3 per person.
  • To reserve a pickleball court at this facility, you must do so in person at the Lenexa Rec Center or the Lenexa Old Town Activity Center.

Classes & clinics

If you're newer to pickleball our beginner clinics are a great way to improve your game and to start playing with confidence. We also periodically offer an intermediate clinic to advance your skills.  

If it's been awhile since your body has experienced the need for agility, check out our Pickleball Strength and Strategy Class. This class meets once a week for one hour for one month. The focus is on increasing your strength, reducing your risk of injury and helping you play smarter.

Lessons

Private and semiprivate lessons will help your reach your goals faster and improve your game. Pick your pickleball coach. Sign up for individual lessons or sign up with up to four others and save.

League play

Ready to take your game to the next level? Joining a league is the perfect way to sharpen your skills, boost your strategy, and enjoy some competition — all in a fun and supportive environment!

With a five-week season, you'll get consistent weekly play to refine your technique, build team chemistry and develop winning strategies. Every team gets a shot at glory in a single-elimination tournament at the end of the season (no extra fee). Bragging rights are on the line! Medals go to the league champions, plus 1st–3rd-place tournament winners. Whether you're in it to win it or just want to elevate your game, league play is where the action happens.

League play typically takes place in January, May and August

This indoor tournament is hosted annually at the Lenexa Old Town Activity Center. Divisions include men’s, women’s and mixed for 3.0 and below as well as 3.5 and below. 

  • Friday Schedule: Men's, Women's and Mixed 3.0 and below.
  • Saturday Schedule: Men's, Women's and Mixed 3.5 and below.
  • Awards: Top three teams in each category will receive a medal.

Swingin’ for a Scholarship Pickleball Tournament Fundraiser

Sept. 19–20, 2025, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Swingin’ for a Scholarship Pickleball Tournament Fundraiser is our biggest tournament and supports of the Lenexa Parks & Recreation Scholarship Program. Games are played at Bois D'Arc Park.
