Fall is prime time for fresh apples. But freezing weather earlier this year damaged many fruit trees, leaving the area apple crop in shorter supply. Lenexa Farmers Market vendor Sunflower Orchards in Paola was among the impacted orchards.

That said, our vendors still have plenty of autumn apple goodies to enjoy!

Drink

Feel nostalgic for days gone by as you sip apple cider from South Baldwin Farms (carried by JET Produce and Meats) or Brew Haha Coffeehouse.

Sample zingy apple spice kombucha from Artisan Kombucha.

Mains

Sear some apple gouda beef brats from Hedgewood Farms or apple bratwurst links from JET Produce and Meats.

Baked goods

Try a loaf of apple honey bread from Rock the House Bakery.

For dessert, choose apple-flavored sweet pastelitos from Beky Food, an apple pie from JET Produce and Meats and Yellow Brick Bakery, apple Danish from Yellow Brick Bakery, or apple caramel walnut cookies from Yummylicious Cookie Company.

Snacks and spreads

Slice fresh apples from South Baldwin Farms (carried by JET Produce and Meats) into your next salad. Or dip them in nut butter.

Prefer the softer side? Pick up a jar of locally made applesauce from Next to Nature Farm and JET Produce and Meats, or apple butter from The Bean Patch.

Skincare

Embrace seasonal scents with Next to Nature Farm’s Spiced Apple bar soap and Orchard Blend lotion bar.
