When you are six years old and diagnosed with cancer, a cool and fun bandage can bring a smile to your face. Noah Wilson knew that. Diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma when he was 6 years old, he grew tired of the boring brown bandages that covered his pokes each day. He decided to make a difference.

He started Noah’s Bandage Project. The organization collects colorful bandages for kids and raises awareness and money for childhood cancer.

To Noah, a bandage was a badge of courage, an identity and just something fun. Noah passed away in 2015 but his project continues to bring joy to kids undergoing medical treatments.

This July, the City of Lenexa will collect boxes of cool, fun bandages at any of the Lenexa locations listed below:

  • Ad Astra Pool
  • Flat Rock Creek Pool
  • Sar-Ko-Par Aquatic Center
  • Lenexa City Hall
  • Lenexa Rec Center
  • Police Station (Public Safety Complex)
  • Municipal Services Service Center

You can also donate $2, the cost of one box of bandages online at www.noahsbandageproject.com. All money raised goes to pediatric cancer research.

Donations will be collected July 1–31, 2024.

The City of Lenexa’s We Care Committee is made up of employees from each City department. The group organizes events and campaigns throughout the year to support area nonprofit organizations.
