Property Tax Rebate Pilot Program

The City of Lenexa has developed a property tax rebate pilot program to provide tax relief to Lenexa homeowners who meet certain criteriaThe program is intended to reduce the tax burden resulting from rising home values. It offers a rebate for the City’s share of a homeowner's property taxes.

Applications will be accepted Aug. 1–Oct. 31, 2024.

How the program works

For the pilot year of this program, a total of $100,000 is available for reimbursement.

Every eligible applicant will receive a property tax rebate equal to a proportional share of available funds — up to 75% of the City’s share of the homeowner’s property tax bill. The amount each applicant will be reimbursed depends on the total number of eligible applications. But the City anticipates rebates will range from approximately $550 to $924.

This is not a first-come, first-served program. All applications will be considered after the Oct. 31, 2024, deadline.
