Shining Star KC is Kansas City’s premier Earth, Wind & Fire tribute band, bringing the unmistakable sound and high-energy performances of this legendary group to audiences everywhere. The band was founded by musicians with a deep love for Earth, Wind & Fire’s signature fusion of R&B, soul, funk, jazz and pop. They work to honor their legacy, performing the hits that have defined generations, like "September," "Shining Star," and "Fantasy."

With soulful vocals, dazzling horn sections, and a powerhouse rhythm, Shining Star KC captures the magic, spirit, and energy of Earth, Wind & Fire’s unforgettable concerts. Whether they're playing for longtime fans or a new generation discovering the music, the goal is to deliver an authentic, immersive experience that takes you back to the heart of the groove.

About the series

Lenexa Parks & Recreation's Outdoor Concert Series takes place on select Sundays in May, June and September. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, pack a picnic dinner and enjoy a variety of live music in a lovely outdoor setting.
