Rent the Lenexa Community Center for your next event. This venue in the heart of Old Town Lenexa offers multiple spaces that are ideal for weddings, receptions, banquets, showers, parties, celebrations of life, business meetings, training seminars, sports rentals and more. 

To rent the Community Center, you must do so in person at: 

  • Lenexa Rec Center, 17201 W. 87th St. Pkwy. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Sunday–Thursday: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Friday–Saturday: 7 a.m. to midnight


Rental spaces and rates

Rental fee includes setup of tables and chairs, technology, amenities and on-site concierge. Additional fees may apply for alcohol consumption and damage deposit.

We offer discounted rates to Lenexa residents and businesses. Separate nonprofit rates are not available.


Multipurpose Room (Gym)

The Multipurpose Room (Gym) is 8,736 square feet and can accommodate a variety of event types and setups.

This space is ideal for wedding ceremonies, receptions, banquets, business meetings, training seminars, graduation parties, birthday parties, anniversary parties, holiday parties, celebrations of life, basketball (half or full gym), volleyball (up to three nets), pickleball, futsal and sports conditioning.

Capacity: 400 people (depending on setup)

Amenities: Basketball/volleyball setup, stage, tables, chairs, kitchen

Non-prime-time cost:

Monday–Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

    • (Package) Multipurpose room and kitchen hourly rate: $50 (8-hour minimum)

Prime-time cost:

Monday–Thursday: 5 to 10 p.m.
Friday: 5 p.m. to midnight

C Room

The C Room is 520 square feet.

This space is best for small receptions, business meetings, training seminars, bridal or baby showers, birthday parties, anniversary parties, holiday parties and celebrations of life.

Sunday: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Monday–Thursday: 5 to 10 p.m.
Friday: 5 p.m. to midnight
Saturday: 8 a.m. to midnight

  • Regular hourly rate: $50
  • Commercial hourly rate: $75 

 


Alcohol and security policy

  • If you are having alcohol at your event, there is an additional $100 fee.

  • You must also fill out a Facility Alcohol Permit Form.

  • If you are serving alcohol, you must hire an off-duty Lenexa police officer. You must contact us and turn in your Facility Alcohol Permit Form at least 60 days before your event to book the officer(s). The fee is $40 per officer per hour, paid in cash directly to the officer(s) at the beginning of your rental. Officers must arrive 30 minutes before your event and remain onsite until 30 minutes after your last call or the event is over.

Requests for dates that are less than 15 days out are not guaranteed and need 48 hours to confirm availability.

Rental start time:

Decorating/vendor setup or warmup must be included in rental time. The Community Center closes at 10 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and at midnight Friday and Saturday. Takedown/cleanup must be completed and everyone must exit the building by rental end time.
