Lenexa was hailed as the “Spinach Capital of the World” during the 1930s. Each year, we celebrate that part of our history with the annual Spinach Festival, a fun, family-oriented event that draws thousands of visitors from all over the area.
It’s a festive day of food, music, entertainment, arts and antique vendors, a recipe contest, wine and craft beers, cooking demonstrations, history, kids’ activities and so much more – all set in the beautifully renovated Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park. The 2014 event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 6.
Art, Fine Craft and Antique Show
One of the main attractions is the Art, Fine Craft and Antique show, featuring a wonderful variety of items such as pottery, fused glass, repurposed furniture and items, jewelry, felted bags and other items, baskets, wood items, metal garden art, quilts, clothing, doll clothes and accessories, antiques and vintage items and so much more! Vendors interested in applying for the 2014 show are encouraged to check back in March 2014 for details.
