Public Art

Art on display in Lenexa

Lenexa has been building its collection of public art since its first acquisition in the early 1980s. This collection includes two- and three-dimensional pieces located throughout the city on public property. Many of the works were selected from the 3-D Art Show sponsored by the City of Lenexa in the 1980s and early 1990s. Several pieces were created by nationally and internationally renowned artists.

Input from our community
In 2012, the Lenexa Arts Council gathered input from the community through a survey as part of the public art master planning process. The master plan was presented to the Governing Body in February 2013. View the survey results and master plan, along with a copy of the remarks to the Governing Body. In May 2016, the Arts Council presented its updated master plan document to the Governing Body.
