New art for Lenexa Rec Center

San Francisco artist Shan Shan Sheng is creating a 65-foot-long abstract sculpture for the Lenexa Rec Center. Fittingly named “Splash,” the sculpture captures the experience of entering water and will be installed down the hall from the Rec Center’s indoor pool. Made up of 31 colorful pieces of cold cast glass panels and suspended from the ceiling, visitors will interact with the artwork from two levels of the building.
