How to register

You can register for our classes in two ways:

  1. Call our Parks & Recreation main office at 913.477.7100. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  2. In person at our main office at the Lenexa Community Center, 13420 Oak St. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.


Six Countries without a Passport (Omaha, NE)

May 3–4, 2017

Hop on the bus and experience six countries in just two days: (1) France: lunch at Le Voltaire, (2) Greece: dinner and dance performance at St. John’s Orthodox Church, (3) Ukraine: “Linens & Traditions” presentation at the Tea Smith, (4) China: Teas of China presentation and tasting, (5) USA: tram tour at Lauritzen Botanical Gardens, Hindu Temple tour and Missouri riverboat sightseeing cruise, and (6) Lithuania: Lithuanian Bakery presentation including afternoon tortes & coffee. Chicken N’ Pickin’ (Walnut, KS)

Arrow Rock’s Lyceum Theatre (Arrow Rock, MO)

Take in mid-Missouri’s beautiful rolling hills as you travel to Rocheport, along the Missouri River. Enjoy a leisurely buffet-style lunch at Les Bourgeois Blufftop Bistro followed by a wine tasting. Then, travel to Arrow Rock’s Lyceum Theatre to see “Beauty & the Beast.” This theater, located in a renovated church, is famous nationwide for the caliber of its talent and quality of its performances. Underground Salt Mine (Hutchinson, KS)

Journey 650 feet below ground, where it is a comfortable 68 degrees year round. Learn about the history of salt mining in Kansas and take a tram tour through museum galleries showing thousands of uses for salt. Then, tour Dr. Robert Goddard’s Lab at the Kansas Cosmosphere and see a live science show packed with surprises. Lunch (included) is at Carriage Crossing restaurant in Yoder, KS. Let’s go Royals!  The cities of Lenexa, Mission, and Shawnee are teaming up again for another great day trip! You won’t have to worry about driving, parking or walking a long distance to enjoy the KC Royals take on the Boston Red Sox. Five Southern women, whose friendships began years ago on their college swim team, set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. This show focuses on four weekends and spans a period of 33 years. Buffet lunch is included. Gambling Casino Trip (Mayetta, KS)

Downstream Casino (Quapaw, OK)

Travel with us to the Downstream Casino in Quapaw, Oklahoma (located 150 miles south of Lenexa).  We will enjoy 6 hours of gaming, $15 in play, and a free lunch buffet.  Register by August 15. $37

Art & Wine Adventure IV (Hermann & Washington, MO)

Sept. 21–22, 2017

Relax and enjoy the beautiful rolling countryside aboard an AmTrak train to Hermann. Enjoy wine tastings at three area wineries, then head to Washington, for a sunset dinner by the river and spend the night. The next day, tour Meerschaum’s Corn Pipe Company, Gary Lucy Art Gallery, or St.Francis Borgia Church, go shopping in downtown Washington, visit two more wineries, and travel home via AmTrak. Opryland USA (Nashville, TN)

Explore Nashville and tour the Country Music Hall of Fame and Studio B, and enjoy a show at the Grand Ole Opry. Go on a guided tour of historic Franklin, TN (includes admission to three historic homes), and enjoy dinner and line dancing lessons at Wild Horse Saloon and breakfast at the world famous Loveless Café. Register by Aug. 1. $976 pp dbl. or $1,178 single. $100 deposit upon registration.

Twin Cities (Minneapolis, St. Paul, MN)

Sit back and relax on a Crossroads Tours’ motor-coach and let us whisk you away to the fun-filled Twin Cities of Minnesota.  We will “shop till we drop” at the famous Mall of America (MOA), take our chances at the Mystic Lake Casino (optional), enjoy a guided tour of the Twin Cities, & check out the Wabasha Street Caves. We will stay at the Country Inn Suites which is adjacent to the Mall of America, and you can either take advantage of the free shuttle to and from the Mall, or walk there via the covered walkway.  Your fee includes:  roundtrip motor-coach transportation, two nights’ hotel with luggage handling, four meals, optional free trip to Mystic Lake Casino, MOA coupon book, all tours, and gratuities for tour guide and lunch staff.  Fee:  $671 (single), $503 per person (pp) double, $497 pp triple, $491 pp quad.  $100 deposit required upon registration.  Register by Sept. 15; final payment due:  Oct. 2.

Trip refund policy

Because there are advance payment requirements on many of our trips, we may not be able to issue you a refund. To request a refund, please do as soon as possible. We will issue refunds if:

  • We cancel the trip

  • We can fill your spot with a new traveler before the registration deadline ($5 processing fee applies).

  • You may purchase trip insurance for trips with overnight stays. Please contact the trip coordinator at least 60 days before your trip for fees and information.

If you are deemed harmful to yourself, other or the trip quality, we reserve the right to remove you from the tip with transportation home at your expense. We reserve the right to make changes necessary to preserve the integrity of our trips.
