Youth Programs

We offer a variety of programs for kids, including arts and crafts, sports, dance and nature. Let their imaginations run wild while they make new friends and learn new skills.

How to register

You can register for our classes in three ways:

  1. Online

  2. Call our Parks & Recreation main office at 913.477.7100. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday

  3. In person at our main office at the Lenexa Community Center, 13420 Oak St. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.


Classes and activities

Arts/Crafts

Kids love art, and they’ll love our art classes, too! Check out our fun options:

Nature/Outdoors

Awaken your child’s interest in the outdoors through fun nature-inspired activities, such as:

  • Young Explorers

Summer camps

Register your child now for summer experiences they won’t forget. Our 2017 summer camps include:

  • May 30 through June 2: Oopy Goopy, ages 4 to 7.

  • June 5 through June 9: Adventure Awaits, ages 10 to 14.

  • June 12 through June 16: Lego Camp, ages 5 to 7

  • STEAM Camp, ages 8 to 12

  • June 19 through June 23: Dancing with Princesses, ages 3 to 6

  • Tumbling with Superheroes, ages 3 to 6

  • June 26 through June 30: Alternative Sports, ages 8 to 12

  • Dancing pop stars, ages 7 to 12

  • July 10 through July 14: Children’s Theatre Camp, ages 6 to 18

  • July 17 through July 22: App Development, ages 9 to 12

  • July 24 to July 28: Best of Summer Camp, ages 8 to 12
