Security Measure

CPR, AED & First Aid Training

Person practicing CPRWe provide American Heart Association training in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and first aid. All instructors are licensed by the American Heart Association. Classes are typically taught at our training facility at Fire Station #3, 24000 Prairie Star Parkway.

Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED

This is a six-hour class for the general public. The cost of this class is $60. We will provide a student manual and a CPR card at the successful completion of the class.

Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches you critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives.

You will learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use.

Heartsaver® CPR & AED

This is a four-hour class for the general public. The cost of this class is $40. We will provide a student manual and a CPR card at the successful completion of the class.

Heartsaver® CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.

Basic Life Support

This is a five-hour class for the general public. The cost of this class is $50. We will provide a student manual and a CPR card at the successful completion of the class.

Basic Life Support course trains you to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED.

In the instructor-led course, you will participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. You work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Hands-Only CPR

This is a no-cost training that will be held in various locations throughout the city.

Hands-Only CPR is CPR without mouth-to-mouth breaths. It is recommended for use by people who see a teen or adult suddenly collapse in an out-of-hospital setting (such as at home, at work, or in a park). For more information and to register for a class, call 913.888.6380.
